3 Best Garden Centers In Orange County

3 Best Garden Centers In Orange County

Orange County has the best weather to grow fruit trees and a vegetable garden. When we moved to Orange County we had a hard time finding a garden center with a wide variety of seeds, vegetable starter plants, fruit trees, and California native plants. Luckily we found some great garden centers in Orange County as we began building our garden. Roger’s gardens, Moon Valley nurseries, and Armstrong Garden centers all have their positives, but these three nurseries have great pricing and healthy plants for a DIYer or a homeowner looking to hire someone to handle landscape installation. Here is my list of the best garden centers in Orange County.

Table of Contents

Plant Depot

Plant Depot is a family-owned business that was created in 1995 in the city of San Juan Capistrano. They sell the highest quality plants, trees, soil, fertilizers, imported pottery, etc… We love getting our shrubs, house plants, flowers, roses, herbs, and seeds for our vegetable garden. It is a fun place to walk around and look at all the different trees and plants to make your landscape beautiful. The staff is very knowledgeable and they have great customer service. If you love landscape design this nursery will have everything you need to create a beautiful outdoor space. The nursery does offer succulents and rare plants. The Plant Depot is a great place to go. It serves hardcore gardeners, hobbyists, and landscape service providers.

Green Thumb Nursery

Green Thumb Nursery is a great gardening center that has everything you need to create a healthy garden. They have a fountain area (my favorite part of the place), gardening and irrigation equipment, a seed area, pottery, trees, vegetables, shrubs, houseplants, flowers, fertilizers, and all different kinds of soil. If you are looking to start your garden Green Thumb Nursery has great prices on the soil. This is a one-stop shop to get your garden started, repair your drip system, or get outdoor plants and furniture. The staff is knowledgeable. We come here when we begin our backyard project. They also have bare-root fruit trees at certain times of the year. If you plan to order rare plants or vegetables make sure you give yourself ample time. It took three weeks for tiny towers to arrive at the nursery.

Tree Of Life Nursery

Tree of Life Nursery is a that has been around for 40 years and has supplied 500 species and varieties of native Southern California plants for landscaping and ecological restoration. Their mission is amazing and the staff at the nursery are so awesome. A lot of the staff are Ph.D. students at the University of California, Irvine. They sell drought-tolerant plants that are native to Southern California. This is a great nursery to go to if you are looking to help preserve the insect and wildlife native to California. They have beautiful flowers and shrubs. If you are looking to reduce watering plants Tree of Life is a great place to go.
