Best Fried Chicken In Orange County

Best Fried Chicken In Orange County

I love a great fried chicken. It is really amazing how we have such a great variety of fried chicken restaurants in Southern California, but now Orange County. I recall the only place I would really go as a child were Popeyes, and KFC, and if we were willing to wait in line we would enjoy Mrs. Knotts Chicken Dinner restaurant in Buena Park. Here is my list of the best fried chicken in Orange County.

Table of Contents

Holdaak Fullerton Ca.

Holdaak is an amazing Korean fried chicken restaurant in Orange County. Their original location started in Fullerton Ca. Luckily Holdaak is expanding to other locations in Orange County as well as Los Angeles County.

The crispy chicken sandwich is absolutely to die for. The chicken is so crispy and the meat is so juicy and tender. If you love a little spice I highly recommend trying their Holdaak spicy or Seoul Spicy sauce (Not too spicy and a little sweet) for the chicken wings or tenders. I recommend chicken sandwiches with crinkle-cut french fries or chicken tender combos that come with either two pieces or three pieces and crinkle-cut fries.

The chicken sandwich is made with a delicious brioche bun and awesome slaw. You will not be disappointed. The chicken is cooked to perfection. You can’t go wrong with any of the menu choices of sauces or chicken. It is all great food.

The Golden Eatery Santa Ana

The Golden Eatery is an amazing Nashville hot chicken restaurant located in downtown Santa Ana. The Golden Eatery is the first place I have found to come close to hot southern fried chicken. Especially on the West Coast.

The Golden sando, Golden sliders, Loaded Wedges, Golden tacos, tenders, and wings are really really good. If you love eating hot and spicy chicken this is the place you want to go. I had a mild spice level and every bite felt like I was swallowing hot peppers so beware of the spice level.

The chicken is excellent it is fried to perfection and the white meat is absolutely juicy and flavorful. The buns they use for the sandwiches and sliders is amazing. It is a great place to eat and enjoy a wonderful meal.

Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken

Gus’s is one of my favorite fried chicken restaurants in Orange County. It has amazing southern buttermilk fried chicken with all the amazing sides. The chicken is seasoned and the flaky crispy skin is amazing. The fried pickles are a great crispy appetizer to start your meal.

All the sides from the mac and cheese, collard greens, potato salad, coleslaw salad, baked beans, and seasoned fries are great choices. And if you are a carb enthusiast like myself you can’t forget about the white bread. The dessert pies are pretty awesome as well. The Chess, pecan, or coconut pie are great.

They do have two other locations in Los Angeles and Long Beach California. I have been to the Long Beach location and the southern fried chicken is as good as the location in Orange County.
