Pumpkin City is located in the Laguna Hills Mall, and they are known for having pony rides, a petting zoo with farm animals, John Deere racers for the kids, giant slides, game booths with carnival games, bounce houses, carnival rides, kiddie rides. And you can’t forget the different sizes and varieties of pumpkins! All the pumpkins are displayed nicely throughout the lot, making it easy to pick the pumpkins you want to take home.

There are also plenty of places for photo ops! And they sell fun Halloween decorations like corn stalks and other spooky items, making it the perfect pumpkin patch! There is a gate entrance fee of $6.00 per person (over 2 years old), but if you go Monday- Friday before 5 pm, admission is free. My advice: if you want to miss the crowds and pick pumpkins early, head there before 5 pm.

Oh, and another fun fact is that Pumpkin City turns the pumpkin patch into a tree lot just in time to sell Christmas trees for the upcoming holidays.

Irvine Regional Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch

Irvine Regional Park hosts one of the best pumpkin patches in Orange County! There are so many activities from a petting zoo, hay maze, hay rides, haunted house, pumpkin ring toss, cookie decorating, face painting, pumpkin decorating, moon bounce, bounce house, carnival games, hay pyramid, pony rides, and horse rides. The list just keeps going! It also has a fully stocked snack bar that has hot dogs, hamburgers, and other yummy snacks for sale.

Guests can also enjoy the Irvine Park railroad which has mini train rides. Perfect for the kids! Just to note, there is free admission to the pumpkin patch, but you must go to the train station to purchase activity tickets to do all the activities. I’ve been going for years, and so many people think it is one of the best pumpkin patches in Southern California. I would have to agree! This is the perfect patch to bring the whole family. They will not be disappointed!

In addition to the patch, the park also hosts a few fall events. Coming up on September 23, 2023, Irvine Regional Park will have a Great Pumpkin weigh-off, kicking off at 9 am. The person who grows the largest pumpkin wins the $6700 prize. Wow! You’ll also have access to all the amusement rides, hay rides, hay maze, train rides, pony rides, and petting zoo with your admission. The park will open the pumpkin patch for the entire day, and of course, you will have access to some of the best pumpkins in Orange County.

Beyond the seasonal activities, the park is large enough to spend the entire day. You can rent bikes, paddle boats, hike, or visit the Orange County Zoo. If you are looking to host your own event, there’s also the opportunity to have private events at the park, as well as rent bounce houses that have a giant slide or obstacle course included.

Just to note, the city of Orange County charges a parking fee of $3.00 on Weekdays, $5.00 on Weekends, and $7.00 on Holidays. The activity tickets cost $7.00 each, or if you want to purchase an entire book, a book of 15 tickets costs $90.00. Keep in mind that as it gets closer to the holidays and during popular events, the Irvine Park Railroad fills up quickly. So if you want to enjoy the pumpkin patch and all of the rides, you should definitely plan to come on earlier dates and times to avoid the crowds. Also, even though dogs are allowed in the Orange County regional park, they are not allowed in the pumpkin patch.
