5 Best Picnic Spots In Orange County

Ready to pack up that basket, grab your favorite snacks, and head out for some al fresco dining? Well, you’re in luck because we’ve scoured every corner of Orange County to bring you the crème de la crème of picnic spots. So get out of that residential neighborhood, and get ready for some serious outdoor munching and scenic views at the best parks in Southern California for an amazing picnic!

Crystal Cove State Park

Let’s kick things off with a bit of beachy bliss, shall we? Crystal Cove State Park is a slice of paradise nestled between Laguna Beach and Newport Beach. Picture this: sandy shores, crashing waves, and some seriously Instagram-worthy sunsets. Pack your picnic basket with some seafood delights from a local joint, spread out your picnic blanket, and enjoy nature’s buffet. This great park has ocean views. sand, and is a fantastic place to reset.

Irvine Regional Park

For those who prefer a touch of greenery, Irvine Regional Park is your go-to picnic destination. This sprawling oasis boasts shady trees, serene lakes, and even some resident wildlife (squirrels, we’re looking at you!). There are plenty of grassy areas for the kids to run free. There’s ample parking and there are plenty of picnic tables to enjoy a nice meal for the day. The park also has lakes where you can feed ducks, a local zoo, hay rides, and train rides.

It’s a great place and is my favorite spot to bring the kids! Don’t forget to bring along some classic picnic fare like sandwiches, salads, and maybe a cheeky bottle of wine to toast to Mother Nature. There’s plenty of green space to go around!

Eisenhower Park

Located in Seal Beach, Eisenhower Park is a hidden gem with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island. Settle down on a grassy knoll overlooking the ocean, unpack your picnic spread, and savor the salty sea breeze as you dine al fresco. After your meal, take a leisurely stroll along the park’s coastal trails and soak in the breathtaking scenery. Kids will love the small playground!

 

Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park

Nature lovers rejoice! This expansive wilderness park in Laguna Niguel boasts miles of scenic trails, rugged canyons, and breathtaking vistas. Pack a hearty picnic lunch, lace up your hiking boots, and embark on an outdoor adventure you won’t soon forget. Just be sure to leave no trace and respect the park’s natural environment.

Yorba Regional Park

Located in Anaheim, Yorba Regional Park offers a picturesque setting with expansive grassy fields, serene lakes, and shaded picnic areas. Bring along some sandwiches, snacks, and maybe even a game of volleyball or horseshoes for some extra fun. Don’t forget to take a leisurely stroll around the park’s scenic trails and enjoy the peaceful ambiance.

Other fun parks in the area include Hillcrest Park, Huntington Beach Central Park and Crescent Bay Point Park, so you can definitely check those out as well for the perfect picnic spot.
