Dana Point Turkey Trot & Kids Gobble Wobble

This is by far one of my favorite Orange County Turkey Trots, and I look forward to it every year! This is an excellent run to do before you start celebrating Thanksgiving Day, and definitely a holiday tradition in the city of Dana Point. The turkey trot is a flat scenic course around Dana Point Harbor. They offer four different runs, and it’s very family-friendly. Participants get a commemorative shirt, a finishers medal, a race bib, and a virtual goodie bag. Proceeds from the event will go to the Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group. This is a great cause that provides outreach for the benefit of our wounded, Families of our Fallen, Marines, and their families. There are free shuttle pick-ups at Dana Point High School.

Here are the start times for the different races:

  • 7 am – 10k race

  • 8:30 am – 5k first race

  • 9:15 am – Costume Contest at the Start Line

  • 9:30 am- 5k second race

  • 10:15 am – Gobble Wobble Kids Event (2-12 ages) Parents can walk alongside their children during the race.

Huntington Beach Turkey Wobble 5K, 10K, and Kid's Run

Huntington Beach is another one of my favorite family-friendly turkey trots. What makes this perfect for families is that the routes are flat. The run takes you right through Huntington Pier and around the outdoor Surf museum. The beach breeze and waves make this trot really nice!

Dogs are also welcome on this run, and parking is available at the event. This year you can donate money to help World Help to drill 55 new wells in Uganda, India, Guatemala, Zimbabwe, and other countries in need of clean water. It’s a great cause!

The turkey trot is held on November 28, 2024, from 7 am – 9:20 am PT.
