Greek Bistro Authentic Greek Cuisine

If you are in the mood for some delicious grilled chicken kebobs, filet mignon kebob, pita wraps, meat combination platters, and Cheese Saganaki (basically fried cheese, it is amazing!). The Tzatziki and Garlic sauce are pretty great. This is a great place to come for lunch or dinner. They have good food and the service is incredibly friendly. If you are around town be sure to stop by this tasty spot. It does get busy at night so there could be a long wait. If you plan to come out for dinner make sure you plan ahead and get to the location early.

Greek Bistro does offer delivery service as well outdoor seating. They do offer a happy hour where certain menu items or meals are discounted.

Ironwood

Ironwood is a great local restaurant tucked away in La Paz village shopping center. If you want to take out your family or significant other to a nice restaurant with a high-end dining experience and nice atmosphere I recommend this hidden little gem. The menu changes seasonally. They use fresh ingredients and they have a full bar and extensive wine list.

I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the fresh menu items. I do recommend the Jidori Chicken Schnitzel, the House made Italian giant meatball, a baked skillet of Mac and Cheese (order it with bacon), Ironwood American Wagyu Beef burger on a brioche bun, and the pork chop. The seafood is pretty awesome. Oh and don’t forget to try the Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Crumble. I do not like raisins, but that is surprisingly good.

This location of Ironwood can get pretty busy at night, but it is totally worth the wait. So if you are coming with a large party make you either make a reservation or send someone to wait for the table.

The restaurant offers takeout as well as delivery options. They do have live music on certain nights of the week.

Romano Cucina

This is a pretty good Italian restaurant in Laguna Hills. The restaurant is only open for dinner and has a full bar. The chicken parmesan, Calamari Fritti, fresh pizza, and shrimp alfredo are the menu items I have tried and they are all delicious. It is a small location so if you come with a large party there could be a little wait. They have a helpful staff and I think the prices are reasonable for the food served.

Franco's Famous Mexican Kitchen and Cocktails

This is the closest authentic Mexican food restaurant in Laguna Hills right off of La Paz Rd. They have a bar and a happy hour. Franco’s serves lunch and dinner throughout the week and weekend. On Sunday they serve a brunch. If you are in the mood for breakfast and lunch on Sunday you should try the delicious french toast.

The fast-casual restaurant serves excellent food such as the Carne Asada Tempiquena, grilled chicken burritos, fish tacos, al pastor burritos, or the Chile Relleno. Make sure you get the fresh salsa and chips when you get to your table. The chips and salsa are tasty and delicious.

They offer outdoor seating. Franco only has dine-in and take-out options.

Scratch Bakery

Scratch bakery is just not any old bakery. It serves a lot of delicious baked bread and pastries. It also has an amazing breakfast and lunch menu. This is one of my favorite breakfast/lunch spots in Laguna Hills and Orange County. It is located near the Laguna Hills mall and they offer outdoor seating.

From the breakfast menu, I would order french toast, any of the English muffins breakfast sandwiches with cheese, a breakfast burrito, or the Rooster (the bacon is always cooked perfectly) are all amazing options. They do offer gluten-free options for the bread.

From the lunch menu, you can’t go wrong with any of the sandwiches on the menu. The BBLT, Traditional Club sandwich, Scratch Reuben, Ronnie G on Rye (Pastrami, cheese, thousand island dressing, with a fried egg), Tuna melt, or Uncle Al’s favorite. All sandwiches are made with freshly baked bread. There is so much delicious food you have to come back to town to enjoy all the menu items. They offer gluten-free options for their pastries.

Scratch only offers outdoor seating. Finding a table on the weekend can be a problem. Try to go early to avoid the crowds. Make sure not to forget to try the fresh pastries or get a loaf of bread.

Sushi Ramen House

When I am coming home and I have a hankering for noodles. I go to the Sushi Ramen House. It is, unfortunately, only open for dinner. I wish they opened for lunch. The seafood sushi bar is pretty good for a small location. My wife and I always order a few sushi rolls and order ramen as well. The seafood is pretty fresh. It probably helps they are so close to the Pacific Ocean.

The seafood ramen, Tonkotsu ramen, Spicy Tuna rolls, Tempura rolls (I can eat 100 of the shrimp tempura), or tuna sashimi are amazing things to eat. The service is quick and friendly. The location is small so finding a table at night can be hard. If you go when it opens or before the dinner rush you can find a table pretty quickly.
