Night Markets In Orange County

One of my favorite things to do in Orange County is to take a visit to one of the vibrant and bustling open-air night markets! The delicious street foods, carnival games, arts and craft vendors, and live music and entertainment, make the night market a truly unique atmosphere. It’s absolutely the place to be during summer nights in Orange County!

Night markets often serve as both shopping destinations and social gathering spots. Luckily, living in Orange County has its perks because you can pick a night market to visit from a variety of locations and dates (some even on the weekend).

Our community is so lucky to have so many night markets available. Keep reading to save the date for a full list of night market events that happen in the OC!

626 Night Market

Known as the OG, this event made the Orange County night markets what they are today. The night market has gained popularity over the years and has become a well-known place for people to enjoy food, entertainment, and a unique cultural experience. Typically held during the summer months, the event is named after the area code “626,” which covers parts of the San Gabriel Valley where many Asian communities are located.

One of the highlights of this night market is getting to eat all the Asian local food. You can enjoy freshly prepared meals, snacks, desserts, and beverages. My favorite dishes are the hand-shaken noodles, crispy fried lumpia, potato swirl, and fried Spam musubi!

The weekend might market is held at the Orange County Fairgrounds. And not only is the food delicious, but visitors also get to enjoy great live music, fun games, and talented art vendors. The perfect place to experience and celebrate the cultural diversity of the area!

If you can’t make it to the 626 Night Market in Orange County, the good news is that organizers host events at plenty of other locations in California throughout the summer. The community holds night markets in the following cities:

  • San Diego

  • Arcadia

  • Los Angeles

  • Santa Monica

  • Bay Area

  • Las Vegas

Anaheim Friday Night Street Market

The Downtown Anaheim Friday Night Street Market is a lively event hosted on the last Friday of every month! The food vendors offer a wide array of local and regional OC delicacies that cater to a variety of tastes. There’s also plenty of fun entertainment! They have local performers that play live music and even show an outdoor movie. So make sure you bring a blanket or a low lawn chair to enjoy the show. It’s definitely a great event to take the kids to!

My favorite part of this event is the surprise at the end of the night… you can see the fantastic Disneyland fireworks display downtown! What better way to kick off your weekend than attending one of these events!

Tip:

  • It can get really crowded in Downtown Anaheim. Parking can be tricky and the night market can get really busy. If you want to get a spot to watch a movie and grab some food, I recommend arriving early to beat the traffic.

Huntington Beach Surf City Nights

The city of Huntington Beach, which is often referred to as “Surf City USA” due to its strong association with surfing and beach culture, hosts a recurring market held every Tuesday night throughout the entire year! Truly a lively experience for everyone that attends these events! These OC night markets have been entirely revamped, and are held every Friday from 10 am- 6 pm at the Huntington Beach Pier Plaza.
The vendors sell both amazing street food, as well as sell different handcrafted or natural/organic skin care products. Attendees can enjoy a wide variety of cuisines, from classic American fare to international dishes and amazing treats.

They also have live music and other vendors that host a great farmer’s market with a variety of fresh fruit and produce. If you are in the area, you definitely need to drop by and support all the small business owners at this one-of-a-kind night market.

The organizers put together some fun activities for kids, such as face painting and interactive games, making it an enjoyable night market outing for families. So this is a really a wonderful event for adults and kids of all ages!

Little Saigon Night Market Westminster

One of the most vibrant and popular night markets in OC is at the Little Saigon Night Market! The event is held in the heart of Little Saigon at the beautiful Asian Garden Mall in Westminster.

Little Saigon is a hub of Vietnamese culture and heritage. The night market reflects this rich cultural through its food, local vendors, and live entertainment. And the organizers do a phenomenal job of putting all this together during the summer months.

I’ve already attended this event this year, and the night market is known for its authentic Vietnamese street food offerings. It didn’t disappoint! Everything was delicious… from the grilled pork kabobs, lobster skewer, grilled squid, giant grilled prawns, to the yummy Vietnamese pizza. I seriously give all the food I ate 5 stars!

Not only is the food to-die-for, but there’s live music and vendors that offer a variety of clothing, accessories, jewelry, traditional crafts, and other products. Something for everyone!
