Where to Recycle Batteries In Orange County

Where to Recycle Batteries In Orange County

Hey,  OC residents have been wondering where to recycle batteries and to drop off your household hazardous waste in Orange County? Here are the locations to recycle batteries in Orange County.

Table of Contents

Irvine Household Hazardous Waste Collection Centers

Irvine Household hazardous waste collection center is located conveniently off of Sand Canyon Ave. They are a universal waste handler. Meaning they are a storage facility for all different types of household hazardous waste and a recycling facility for e-waste and batteries. They will accept old paint cans (no larger than 5 gals), electronic devices, cell phones, computers, single-use batteries, pool chemicals, any used or rechargeable batteries, as well as used car batteries (if you don’t want the credit for a new battery).

OC residents can also get rid of lead-acid batteries, button cells, and lithium. They are closed on major holidays and the drop-off is free and easy. You do not have to get out of your cars. The attendant will remove all of your household hazardous waste. If you have a drop-off and want to miss the long lines I would advise you to go on weekdays if possible and in the morning or during lunch hours. The lines can get pretty long on Saturday.

Make sure before you approach the gate all the recyclables containers are tightly closed. If you are planning to dispose of toxic household hazardous waste make sure the container is closed tight. Try to organize your garbage, used batteries, and other waste in your vehicle. It will make the process of drop-off much easier for the recycling facility and faster for the other customers.
